"Partially to gauge whether you were cold, or anxious. It is more difficult to take readings from a distance. There is also...the matter of this body reacting to stimuli that by all rights it should either not be capable of, or should be a good deal more muted due to the nature of the synthetic portion of its construction. I am still learning how to inhabit it, after all."
